These cars were delivered to Philadelphia Suburban Transportation Co. in 1949 and were retired by SEPTA in 1982. They differ from other double-end PCC cars built around the same time by having different high-speed trucks for the hilly routes southwest of Philadelphia. Thus, they are not considered full PCCs, but rather interurbans, although they make use of the same PCC patents. They share most of the same dimensions as cars delivered to MUNI and Illinois Terminal but have a longer truckbase and a different door arrangement.
