IHP/MTM HO Boise Budd Commuter Coach Kits
HO "Boise Budd" Commuter Coach Kits

In the early 1980s, Boston's MBTA was looking for ways to utilize its fleet of former B&M Budd Rail Diesel Cars which, although increasingly mechanically unreliable, were still structurally sound. They decided to have them rebuilt into unpowered push/pull coaches by Morrison-Knudson at their Boise, Idaho facility. The resulting recycled cars served the MBTA for another decade before being sold to other operators and many are still in service today on tourist railroads.
