#287005 HO Scale NYC 1100 DC/ACMU Car Shells

Built in two batches for the New York Central's commuter operations out of Grand Central Terminal, these spartan cars were the latest in MU technology of their time. They were built by Pullman-Standard and measured 85' feet in length. They had operator's cabs at each end, allowing for greater flexibility. These cars were similar to an earlier group of cars built by St. Louis Car Co. a few years earlier. The 1100-series cars lasted in rush hour service on Metro-North until 2005, when the last cars were retired.

IHP brings you the first ever attempt to make this car commercially available in any scale. Our shell represents the 1962 group with some later features. (The 1965 cars have their windowband mounted a few inches lower.) A Ready To Finish version with Proto 1000 drive will be available in our Standard Series.

FEATURES:
*One-Piece, Finely-cast resin shell
*Shell represents 1962 group of cars
*Detailed Roof
*Stepwells and Passenger Bulkheads
*Designed from measurements taken from the actual vehicles
