IHP HO MP54 Page

Coming in 2002 are Pennsylvania Railroad MP54 MU Commuter cars. The best-known of all the prewar MU cars, these owl-eyed MUs plied the Northeast Corridor for 50 years for the Pennsylvania Railroad and its successor railroads and agencies. The Pennsy had over 400 of these cars at the peak of the fleet's operations, and they served commuters Washington DC, New York, Princeton University, Philadelphia, and Harrisburg and all points in between. A variant also served the Long Island Rail Road.

These models will feature one-piece resin plastic bodies, cast metal floors and underbody detail, provision for Tenshodo power trucks, cast metal Hyatt dummy trucks with pilots, Kadee-compatible coupler pockets, decals and pantographs. They will be available in kit form, with RTR painted models (power or dummy) available by special order.
